ULI News
The theme of ULI Suburban Marketplace 2012 is “Fast Forward: Developing dynamic communities,” and the location in Ft. Bend County is appropriate for the largest ULI conference focused on issues of concern to suburban developers.
Fort Bend is the number one fastest growing county of the 10 largest counties in Texas, and three of the top ten best-selling master planned communities in the nation: Cinco Ranch, Telfair, and Sienna Plantation, are located there.
Robert McLeod, Chairman and CEO of Newland Real Estate Grou in San Diego, will be keynote speaker. McCleod heads the nation’s largest private developer of master planned communities, including Cinco Ranch, Telfair, Eagle Springs and Summerwood in the Houston area. Sugar Land Mayor, the Honorable James A. Thompson, will welcome guest to kick off the event, which includes mobile workshop tours, expert speaker presentations, a marketplace of exhibits, and a happy hour for relaxed networking.
Doug Goff, Chief Operating Officer of The Johnson Development Corp., is 2012 Suburban Marketplace chairman. The developer of Sienna Plantation said the day-long conference will highlight best practices in community building and offer opportunities for participants to learn more about trends that impact suburban real estate development.
Roger Galatas, President and CEO, Roger Galatas Interests, and Former President and CEO, The Woodlands Operating Co., will be recognized as honorary event chairman of the event. The Woodlands also is a perennial fixture on the national list of best-selling master planned communities.
